Role of the School Nurse
* Provide health assessments, first aid and emergency care
* Conduct state mandated screenings, including vision, hearing, postural, height/weight and SBIRT
* Develop and implement Individualized Health Care Plans for students with special health care needs
* Oversee medication administration for prescription and over the counter medications
* Maintain confidential school health records
* Provide links to access community health services
* Provide health counseling and education, individually and in the classroom setting
* Monitor immunization compliance and communicable disease control

Important Immunization Information for 11th Grade Students
The 2nd dose of the meningococcal ACWY vaccine is required for all students and is administered on or after their 16th birthday. You can click here to read more information about this important vaccine. If you are unsure if your child has been vaccinated or not, please contact
Leslie McInnis, RN at 508-529-2143 or [email protected]. If your child has not received this vaccine, please contact their PCP to schedule an appointment and then provide documentation to the school nurse.
Blood Drive at Nipmuc
The Nipmuc Red Cross Club and Boston Children’s Hospital will be hosting a blood drive on December 13, 2024. The blood drive, which is open to eligible students, staff and the community, will take place in the Boston Children’s Hospital mobile van that will be parked outside of the Nipmuc athletic wing from 9am-3pm. All donors who provide a new, unwrapped toy when they check-in will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win Railers Hockey tickets or a restaurant gift card! Toys will be donated to patients at Boston Children’s Hospital.

Physical examinations by the student's primary care provider are required for:
- Students entering 10th grade
- Within 13 months of the start of tryouts for all sports
- Upon transfer from another school
