Role of the School Nurse

​* Provide health assessments, first aid and emergency care
* Conduct state mandated screenings, including vision, hearing, postural, height/weight and SBIRT
* Develop and implement Individualized Health Care Plans for students with special health care needs
* Oversee medication administration for prescription and over the counter medications
* Maintain confidential school health records
* Provide links to access community health services
* Provide health counseling and education, individually and in the classroom setting
* Monitor immunization compliance and communicable disease control
NEWS and INFORMATION

Important Immunization Information for 11th Grade Students
The 2nd dose of the meningococcal ACWY vaccine is required for all students and is administered on or after their 16th birthday. You can click here to read more information about this important vaccine. If you are unsure if your child has been vaccinated or not, please contact

. If your child has not received this vaccine, please contact their PCP to schedule an appointment and then provide documentation to the school nurse.

211 HELP Steps is the online platform of Mass 211. From any desktop or mobile device, individuals can search and then connect to local health and human service resources across the Commonwealth. Programs that are included support basic needs such as food security, housing, childcare, transportation as well as resources for mental and emotional health. Required Information for Nipmuc Students
Please forward documentation of your child’s most recent physical to the health office. 
Physical examinations by the student's primary care provider are required for:
  • Students entering 10th grade
  • Within 13 months of the start of tryouts for all sports
  • Upon transfer from another school 
We encourage parents/guardians to send in documentation of updated physical exams whenever they occur.
